Donation information may be used to process and acknowledge the contribution, issue donation receipts, maintain legally required records, administer recurring donations, respond to donor questions, and communicate about ministry activities when permitted.
Purchase information may be used to process payment, fulfill an order, deliver course/membership/digital access, provide customer service, administer renewals, prevent fraud, and maintain transactional records.
A purchase receipt is not treated as a charitable-contribution acknowledgment.
6Cookies & similar technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, software-development kits, and similar technologies. These technologies may support:
Necessary functions
Website operation; security and fraud prevention; login and account functionality; shopping carts and checkout; payment processing; cookie preferences; and load balancing and performance.
Analytics
Understanding how visitors find the website, which pages and resources are used, how visitors navigate the site, whether forms and pages function properly, and how the website can be improved.
Advertising & outreach
When activated, advertising technologies such as Meta Pixel or similar tools may help us measure outreach campaigns, understand conversions, build or exclude audiences, limit repetitive advertising, and present relevant messages on third-party platforms. Where required, optional analytics and advertising technologies will be activated only after appropriate consent.
7Cookie choices
You may manage cookies through the website’s cookie-consent tool, your browser settings, device privacy settings, advertising-platform controls, and available industry opt-out tools.
Blocking necessary cookies may prevent portions of the website, checkout, account, or course systems from functioning correctly. Where legally required, the website will provide a method to reject nonessential cookies as easily as accepting them.
8Analytics & advertising
The website may use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, WordPress.com analytics, or similar technologies. These providers may collect device, browser, usage, approximate-location, cookie, and conversion information according to their own privacy policies.
We do not sell personal information for money.
Certain uses of advertising or analytics technologies may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or similar regulated activity under some privacy laws. Where applicable, visitors may use the cookie-preference tool or contact us to exercise an opt-out right. We will honor legally recognized browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required and technically supported.
9Email communications
When you subscribe, register, donate, purchase, or request information, we may send transaction confirmations, donation receipts, account or security notices, course or membership communications, event information, responses to inquiries, newsletters, new teaching notifications, and promotional messages.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link included in the message. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary transactional communications concerning an active account, purchase, donation, subscription, security issue, or requested service. Email communications may be managed through ActiveCampaign, Kit, MailPoet, WordPress.com, or another email provider.
10Embedded content & social media
Pages may contain videos, audio, posts, buttons, or other content embedded from YouTube, Vimeo, podcast platforms, social networks, or other services. Embedded content may allow the third-party provider to collect information about your device and interaction, particularly if you are logged into that third-party account. Your interaction with embedded or linked services is governed by the provider’s privacy policy.
11How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to:
Service providers
Companies that support website hosting; security and backups; payment processing; donation management; course and membership delivery; email communications; analytics; advertising; video hosting; customer support; accounting; professional services; order fulfillment; and technical operations. These providers may use information only as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.
Professional advisers
Information may be provided to accountants, attorneys, auditors, insurers, consultants, and other professional advisers when reasonably necessary.
Legal & safety purposes
Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with legal process or applicable law, respond to a lawful government request, investigate fraud or security incidents, enforce agreements, protect legal rights, prevent harm, or protect the safety of individuals or the public.
Organizational transactions
Information may be transferred as part of a merger, restructuring, succession, asset transfer, collaboration, or other organizational transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
With your direction or consent
We may disclose information when you request, authorize, or consent to the disclosure.
12Donor privacy
Misfit Ministries does not sell donor information. We do not publicly identify a donor solely because the person made a donation unless the donor has given permission, public recognition was requested, disclosure is reasonably necessary to administer a campaign, or disclosure is required by law.
A request for public anonymity does not eliminate internal financial, tax, accounting, or legal recordkeeping requirements. Donor questions should be sent to talktous@misfitministries.com.
13Public & community content
Information posted in comments, profiles, discussion groups, community spaces, testimonials, reviews, or other public or shared areas may be visible to other people.
Do not post information you want to remain private.
We may moderate or remove content according to our Terms and community standards, but we cannot guarantee that another participant will not copy, capture, or redistribute information made available to them.
14Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including completing transactions; maintaining accounts; providing courses or memberships; satisfying donor acknowledgment and financial-record requirements; maintaining tax, accounting, and legal records; resolving disputes; enforcing agreements; preventing fraud; and protecting security.
Retention periods vary according to the information, purpose, legal requirements, and operational need. When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymize, or securely archive it.
15Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain. However, no website, transmission, storage system, or payment method can be guaranteed completely secure. You provide information at your own risk and should use strong, unique passwords and protect your account credentials.
If you suspect unauthorized account access or a fraudulent transaction, contact us promptly at talktous@misfitministries.com. Donation-related concerns may be sent to talktous@misfitministries.com.
16Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have the right to:
- Know whether we process your personal information;
- Request access to personal information;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Request deletion;
- Request a portable copy;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Withdraw consent;
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or regulated sharing;
- Appeal the denial of a privacy request; and

These rights may be subject to exceptions. For example, we may retain information required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, security, transactional, or recordkeeping purposes.
17How to exercise your rights
Submit a privacy request to talktous@misfitministries.com and include:
- Your name;
- The email address associated with your interaction;
- The right you wish to exercise;
- The state or country where you reside; and

We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require evidence of authority and identity verification.
18California & other U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of California and certain other states may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, targeted advertising, sale, sharing, profiling, and sensitive personal information. Misfit Ministries does not sell personal information for monetary compensation.
If our use of analytics or advertising tools constitutes regulated “sharing” or targeted advertising, eligible individuals may opt out through the website’s cookie-preference tool, a recognized browser signal where required, or by contacting talktous@misfitministries.com. We will not unlawfully discriminate against an individual for exercising a privacy right.
19European, United Kingdom & similar rights
Where European, United Kingdom, or similar data-protection laws apply, our processing may rely upon consent; performance of a contract or requested service; compliance with a legal obligation; protection of vital interests; or legitimate interests that are not overridden by individual rights.
You may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
20International data transfers
Misfit Ministries is based in the United States. If you access the website from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we and our providers will use recognized safeguards for international transfers. Data-protection laws in those locations may differ from those in your country.
21Children’s privacy
The website is not directed to children under 13, and Misfit Ministries does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without legally required parental consent. Individuals under 18 should use the website with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact talktous@misfitministries.com so we can review and take appropriate action.
22Third-party websites
The website may link to third-party websites and platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or practices of third parties. Review the privacy policy of any external service before providing personal information.
