Donations
A voluntary contribution for which the donor generally receives no goods or services in return.
Effective Date: August 17, 2026
Misfit Ministries is an Arizona-based religious ministry operating pursuant to Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code — a global movement devoted to helping people move beyond indoctrinated, dogmatic religion and toward spiritual awareness, personal responsibility, freedom, and transformation.
Beyond Religion. Into Transformation. Outgrow what confined you.
Misfit Ministries offers two separate types of financial transactions through its website. These transactions are legally and financially distinct.
A voluntary contribution for which the donor generally receives no goods or services in return.
A payment made in exchange for a specific product, service, program, access right, or other item of value.
The website uses separate payment pathways for donations and purchases. Visitors should carefully select the appropriate payment option and review the terms displayed during checkout.
A payment made through the purchase checkout is not automatically a charitable contribution. Likewise, making a donation does not automatically entitle a donor to a product, course, membership, event admission, or other paid benefit.
Donations support the religious, spiritual, educational, outreach, content-production, technological, administrative, and operational activities of Misfit Ministries. These activities may include:
Misfit Ministries retains complete discretion and control over the use of donated funds, subject to applicable law and any donor restriction expressly accepted by the ministry in writing.
Misfit Ministries operates as a religious ministry pursuant to Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are intended to be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Tax laws and individual circumstances vary. Misfit Ministries does not provide legal, accounting, or tax advice and does not guarantee that any particular donation will qualify for a deduction. Donors should retain their donation receipts and consult a qualified tax adviser regarding the deductibility and reporting of their contributions.
Donations from individuals outside the United States may not qualify for a charitable deduction in the donor's country of residence. International donors should consult an adviser familiar with the laws applicable in their jurisdiction.
An electronic donation receipt will ordinarily be provided after a donation is processed. For donations of $250 or more, donors should retain the written acknowledgment issued by Misfit Ministries as required for federal tax-substantiation purposes.
Donors are responsible for providing an accurate name, email address, mailing address when requested, and other information reasonably necessary to issue a proper acknowledgment. Receipt corrections and acknowledgment requests may be sent to talktous@misfitministries.com.
Purchase receipts are different from donation acknowledgments and should not be used to claim a charitable deduction.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, no goods or services are provided in exchange for a donation. If a donor receives goods or services in connection with a payment, the receipt or accompanying disclosure will provide a good-faith estimate of their value when required by law. Only the portion of the payment exceeding that value may be eligible for treatment as a charitable contribution.
Payments made specifically to receive books, courses, memberships, event admission, merchandise, downloads, or other products or services are purchases — not donations — unless Misfit Ministries expressly identifies a separate charitable portion in writing.
All donations are voluntary. Misfit Ministries does not promise spiritual transformation, healing, divine favor, prosperity, financial gain, access to God, or any other personal outcome in exchange for financial support. A person is not required to donate in order to access God, pursue spiritual truth, participate in freely available ministry content, or be respected by Misfit Ministries.
A one-time donation will be charged in the amount authorized by the donor through the selected payment method. Donors should review the amount and payment information carefully before submitting.
By selecting a recurring donation, the donor authorizes the stated amount to be charged automatically at the frequency selected during checkout. Recurring donations continue until canceled, the payment method expires or fails, or Misfit Ministries ends the arrangement. Donors may cancel future recurring donations through any self-service option provided in their receipt or donor account, or by contacting talktous@misfitministries.com.
Cancellation requests should be submitted sufficiently in advance of the next scheduled payment to allow reasonable processing time. Canceling a recurring donation does not ordinarily reverse a donation that has already been processed.
Donations are generally nonrefundable once processed. Misfit Ministries may consider refund requests involving:
Refund requests should be submitted promptly to talktous@misfitministries.com and should include the donor's name, transaction date, donation amount, and a description of the issue. Approval is not guaranteed. When a donation is refunded, the donor may no longer claim that amount as a charitable deduction and should retain documentation of the refund for tax purposes.
Misfit Ministries may allow donors to express a preference for how a donation should be used. Unless the ministry expressly accepts a legally binding restriction in writing, a suggested designation represents the donor's preference only — it does not give the donor ownership, control, management authority, or a right to direct ministry operations.
If a designated project becomes unnecessary, fully funded, impractical, or inconsistent with the mission, Misfit Ministries may redirect the donation to a substantially similar purpose or another ministry need, to the extent permitted by law.
Misfit Ministries generally cannot accept a tax-deductible donation when the donor requires that the funds be transferred to, controlled by, or used solely for the personal benefit of a particular named individual. Any assistance provided to individuals must remain subject to the independent discretion and religious or charitable purposes of Misfit Ministries.
Payments made in exchange for books, courses, memberships, paid community access, event admission, merchandise, digital downloads, consulting, educational programs, or other products or services are commercial purchases. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, these payments:
Revenue generated from purchases may be used to support the mission and operations of Misfit Ministries. However, the ministry's use of the revenue does not automatically convert a purchase into a charitable donation.
Book and physical-product purchases may be processed directly by Misfit Ministries or through third-party sellers such as Amazon, Audible, publishers, fulfillment providers, or other retailers. Purchases made through a third-party seller are governed by that seller's pricing, shipping, cancellation, return, refund, privacy, and customer-service policies.
Misfit Ministries does not control and is not responsible for a third-party seller's processing, inventory, delivery times, pricing, or refund decisions.
Course registrations, downloadable materials, recordings, digital resources, and other digital-product purchases provide access to the item or program described during checkout. Access may be delivered through Misfit Ministries, LearnWorlds, or another third-party educational platform. Purchasers are responsible for:
Course access and digital materials may not be copied, shared, resold, redistributed, publicly displayed, recorded, or uploaded to another platform without written permission.
If Misfit Ministries offers paid memberships or private community access, those payments will be treated as purchases when they provide specific content, access, services, events, programs, or other material benefits. Membership charges are not automatically charitable donations.
Recurring memberships continue until canceled according to the cancellation terms displayed during enrollment. Canceling a membership stops future renewal charges but does not ordinarily create a refund for a period that has already begun. Voluntary donations made separately from membership payments will be processed through the donation pathway and documented separately.
Prices will be displayed during checkout and may be changed at any time before a purchase is completed. Applicable sales, transaction, value-added, use, or similar taxes may be added when required by law. Customers are responsible for any taxes, currency-conversion costs, bank fees, or other charges imposed by their jurisdiction or payment provider.
Refund eligibility for books, courses, memberships, events, merchandise, downloads, and other products or services will be governed by the refund policy displayed during checkout or associated with the particular offering. Different products and services may have different refund terms.
Digital products, downloaded materials, completed services, event tickets, and courses that have already been substantially accessed may be nonrefundable except where otherwise stated or required by law. Questions or refund requests concerning a purchase should be sent to talktous@misfitministries.com, including the customer's name, purchase date, order number, product or course purchased, and an explanation of the request.
Purchasing a book, course, membership, event, resource, or other offering does not guarantee spiritual awakening, personal transformation, healing, financial improvement, relationship success, professional advancement, or any other particular result. Results depend upon each participant's circumstances, effort, decisions, participation, and numerous factors outside the control of Misfit Ministries.
The website maintains separate payment pathways for donations and purchases. Visitors are responsible for selecting the correct transaction type. If a transaction is submitted through the wrong pathway, the individual should promptly contact Misfit Ministries.
Donation questions should be directed to talktous@misfitministries.com. Purchase questions should be directed to talktous@misfitministries.com.
Misfit Ministries generally processes donations and purchases separately. If a future transaction includes both a purchase and an additional donation, the checkout page and receipt should separately identify the purchase price or fair market value of the goods or services, the additional voluntary donation amount, and the portion, if any, that may be eligible for charitable treatment.
The full payment should not be treated as a charitable donation merely because part of it exceeds the value of the product or service.
Online donations and purchases may be processed through Stripe, GiveWP, Donorbox, LearnWorlds, Amazon, Audible, or another third-party payment or commerce provider. These providers may collect and process payment information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Misfit Ministries generally does not directly receive or store complete credit-card or bank-account numbers. The amount received by the ministry may be reduced by ordinary payment-processing, platform, banking, currency-conversion, fulfillment, or transaction fees.
Making a donation or purchasing a product or service does not give the donor or purchaser an ownership interest in Misfit Ministries, its assets, intellectual property, programs, operations, or decision-making. Donors and customers do not acquire voting rights, management authority, control over ministry activities, or the right to direct the ministry's religious teachings or organizational decisions.
Misfit Ministries may collect information necessary to process donations and purchases; issue appropriate receipts and acknowledgments; deliver products, services, courses, or membership access; maintain financial and ministry records; respond to questions and support requests; prevent fraud and unauthorized transactions; satisfy legal, accounting, and tax obligations; and communicate with donors and customers when authorized or otherwise permitted.
Misfit Ministries does not sell donor or customer information.
Information may be shared with payment processors, educational platforms, fulfillment providers, hosting providers, email providers, accountants, attorneys, contractors, regulators, or other service providers when reasonably necessary to complete transactions, administer ministry operations, comply with applicable law, or protect Misfit Ministries and its users. Additional information concerning data practices will be provided in the Misfit Ministries Privacy Policy.
Misfit Ministries will not publicly identify a donor solely because that person made a donation unless the donor has given permission or disclosure is required by applicable law. A donor requesting anonymity should contact talktous@misfitministries.com. An anonymous public listing does not eliminate internal recordkeeping or disclosure obligations that may apply to Misfit Ministries.
Misfit Ministries may revise this Donations, Purchases, and Payment Disclosure as its payment systems, programs, products, operations, or applicable requirements evolve. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest published version.
